This one could be tricky, maybe it never rains where you live? That only means you need to be more creative. (See the last photo!)
We have tried ‘rain’ as a challenge before, but we didn’t let you create your own rain (tap, hose, bucket) and we want to see how creative you can get if it’s not raining where you are! If you tried last time, try something different this time! Self Portrait in the rain? Go on then.

Taking photographs in the rain can be a challenging but rewarding experience for photographers. One of the biggest challenges is protecting your equipment from water damage. (I use these in heavy rain) It’s important to invest in waterproof camera gear and accessories, such as camera covers and lens hoods, to keep your camera and lenses dry. Another challenge is finding the right lighting conditions. Rainy weather can create moody and dramatic lighting, but it can also result in overcast and flat lighting. To overcome this, try shooting during the golden hours before or after sunrise and sunset when the light is softer and warmer.
When taking photographs in the rain, it’s important to look for interesting subjects and compositions. Rain can add texture and depth to your images, so look for reflections, puddles, and raindrops on surfaces. Experiment with different angles and perspectives to capture the mood and atmosphere of the scene. You can also play with shutter speed to create motion blur and emphasize the movement of the rain.
Finally, be patient and stay committed to your vision. Rain can be unpredictable, so it’s important to be prepared to wait for the right moment to capture the perfect shot. Don’t be afraid to experiment and take risks with your photography, and always be open to learning and improving your skills. With practice and perseverance, taking photographs in the rain can lead to stunning and unique images.
And remember, if it’s not raining, get creative! This is one of my boys and his grandma, my mum, in some hot weather enjoying the hose! “Its Raining!” his big brother yelled…
He was a hilarious toddler! ANyways, have a great week ahead, make many photos, smile at someone in the street at random, help a stranger, hug your friends.
